Balancing insight and instinct, Clare O'Neill believes nothing
enhances a room like original artwork; believing that art and design go hand in hand. The room changes the way you see the
art and the art changes the way you see the room.
Photographing in black & white, she prefers to strip the image of color allowing
raw emotions and ideas to emerge. The photographs are then sepia toned adding the warmth of a patina, balancing the cold and
impersonal feel of the black & white.
As a natural extension of her photography, O'Neill has begun to use her images
as a starting point to manipulate and create works with a three-dimensional quality. Some images have been painted on canvas,
some have been suspended in resin, and some have been altered using a mixed media material consisting of molten beeswax, pigment,
and damar varnish.
