Forty Miles From Town It was my
birthday and we were on a journey to visit a monastic site deep in northwestern New Mexico's Chama Canyon. Our directions
were to take the first left onto a dirt road just past Ghost Ranch (made famous by painter Georgia O'Keefe). Having no
signs this was the correct road we forged forward. The weather turned wild and just after this image was taken the skies opened
and an incredible deluge began♦making the remaining 12 miles quite a ride. I often refer to this photo simply as Christ
